Junior Competitive acts as an introduction to competitive swimming and a chance for swimmers to continue their swimming journey as part of our squad programs.
Swimmers demonstrate strong technique across all strokes and can follow more complex training
sets. They attend competitions, are showing an increased level of commitment and begin preparing
for county-level standards. This squad remains flexible to accommodate other commitments
To ensure steady progress and maintain competitive readiness, swimmers are expected to attend a minimum of 1–2 sessions per week, with 3 being ideal. Swimmers should demonstrate strong, consistent technique across all four strokes over 50m and 100m, while mastering core race skills—including streamlines, underwaters, starts, turns, and relay takeovers. Full attentiveness and commitment during training are required, along with the ability to independently read and train using a pace clock.
Competitively, squad members must be available for club league selection, enter the club championships, and participate in at least two open meets during the season, including the Sandwell L3 Trident and a December meet.
