2026 StormTrident Open Meet

The StormTrident Open Meet is a collaborative event delivered by Sandwell Aquatics Club and Stourbridge Swimming Club, hosted in the iconic 50m pool at Sandwell Aquatics Centre, the home of the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.
Designed to attract clubs seeking a high-quality, professionally delivered competition, StormTrident offers a fast, fair, and inclusive racing environment across a comprehensive programme of events. The meet is open to 11-year-olds through to 16 years and over, with age determined as at midnight on 31 December 2026. Please note that swimmers aged 10 and under are not eligible to compete at this event.
The programme features a full range of 50m, 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, and 1500m events, providing meaningful racing opportunities for both developing and experienced swimmers. From sprint speed to endurance performance, StormTrident is designed to support season planning, athlete progression, and confident racing under championship-standard conditions.

Withdrawals
Any withdrawals are to be sent to stormtrident@sandwellaquatics.org by 6 pm on Wednesday, 8th April 2026
Car park
We have a section allocated to us for the event with limited spaces- 70. Passes will be issued to officials, and each club will receive one additional pass.
IMPORTANT :- Spectators, team managers, and other volunteers will be redirected to the nearby Harry Mitchell Leisure Centre. Address: Broomfield, Smethwick B67 7DH
The Sandwell Aquatics Centre is a 15-minute walk from the Harry Mitchell Leisure Centre.

To prevent traffic congestion around the centre, we encourage parents with swimmers aged over 14 to drive directly to the Harry Mitchell Centre and then walk to the Sandwell Aquatics Centre.
There is also a possibility for some off-street parking areas.
Officials/ coaches/ team managers/ volunteers
Please use the side entry to access the pool. There will be breakfast, lunch, and some light refreshments served throughout the day.
Swimmers
NOTE : SA swimmers can also enter via the side entry.
Please pack a healthy lunch and snacks, plus plenty of water, but NO NUTS or nut products – You are allowed to use your phones and tablets on poolside/balcony, but photography and video recording are strictly prohibited.
Please remember that appropriate footwear is required for those seated on the balcony. Additionally, we kindly request that all swimmers bring a towel with them when coming down to poolside.

Matt Davenport will be on site over the weekend. A link to the photographs with a password will be provided to each club after the event.

Spectator Tickets
We warmly encourage parents, family members, and supporters to come along and cheer on the team. Your support plays a huge role in creating a positive and motivating atmosphere for our swimmers.
Spectator Tickets can be purchased on the day. £6.00 per session, £10.00 for a full day.
